MISSION STATEMENT
To empower and educate young people about horses by leading them to their full potential through intentional horsemanship, personal development, life skill building, ranch, agriculture management and community outreach.
SECOND CHANCE HORSE DONATION PROGRAM
We all have had those horses that have not worked out for whatever reason. This results in diminished dreams, unhappy clients, and lost dollars. Oftentimes these horses will flourish in another discipline, giving them a second chance.
501c3 tax deductions can be used to ease such financial loss by donating the horse to a good cause
Horses can be purchased at a reduced price or fully donated to the program. They will be used in the program to educate interns, retrained if needed, and/or resold. Proceeds of the sale will be used to fund the costs associated in running the foundation. The interns benefit from the experience of riding these types of horses, as well as the entire training, fitting and selling of the horses. They learn the in’s and outs of the business. Our interns are provided housing, uniforms, and text books to enrich their time in the program. Because it is a 3 month program, some interns are also provided scholarships to attend and learn.
PRIOR DONATION
Whiskey is a 4 yr old reining mare by Whizkey N Diamonds out of Custom Skirt. She showed at the NRHA futurity earning a little money but wasn’t going to fit in the future of the owner’s program. They donated her to the FHF taking a $25,000 tax donation. We rode her for several months playing with cows, cowboy dressage, and several other disciplines until her destiny became apparent. Cowboy dressage would be where she would flourish with her amazing new owners Rhodes River Ranch we’re thrilled! This was a win win situation for everyone involved; original owners, the foundation, new owners and the horse! This is a great example of the wonderful partnerships we are looking for.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit and would not be able to do what we do without your help. Why? What does your money go towards…scholarships for interns. Paying the utilities in the house where they stay. Funding field trips and show fees for the interns. Covers administrative costs, horse purchases for program, program transportation. Covers tuition for interns.
